CONNECTING: PLANTS AND HUMANS IN CITIES
The project Connecting: plants and humans in cities questions the way we relate to green spaces in our cities. We need to take in account the human but also the plants perspective in our urban environment so the everyone profits better.
Through out her project Paula tries to bring human and plant together to make the human more aware of the plants that surround them. If we as humans would know more about the species around us, it would fundamentally change our relationship with them.
The project focuses on one specific green space in Eindhoven that the inhabitants tend to oversee. Through conversations with the people around it but also the plants Paula decided to invite people to sow seed with in the space. Those seeds are not cultivated plants like in most of the spaces in Eindhoven but regional plants that will benefit the ecosystem.
At the same time she wants to give people the opportunity to interact with space by placing a bench in space. So humans and plants profit better from the space while having a moment together.
